It's not enough to believe in what is right — your actions need to back up those beliefs. So, now that you're equipped to make ethical choices, the next step is to develop goals that help you match your beliefs to your actions.
Remember these tips when setting goals:
  1. Keep a balanced perspective. Set goals that cover all aspects of your life, not just your athletic life. Use the overall health acronym, SPICES:
    • Spiritual
    • Physical
    • Intellectual
    • Cultural
    • Emotional
    • Self-Responsible
  2. Write goals that focus on the process as well as the outcome.
  3. Use goals that focus on the short-term as well as the long-term.
  4. Always write goals that are measurable and that include a timeframe for completion.
